The management staff of AA Tex Lawn has over 120 years of combined experience in the landscaping industry. We maintain an attitude of constantly training and testing so that we can give our clients the highest quality knowledge and service.

 

Certifications:

 

CLP

We have a Certified Landscape Professional on staff. The PLANET Certification program is an international certification program whose objectives are:

 

• To raise the standards of the profession

• To encourage self-assessment by offering guidelines for achievement

• To identify persons with acceptable knowledge of principles and practices of the profession

• To award recognition to those who have demonstrated a high level of competence in the profession

• To improve performance within the profession by encouraging participation in a continuing program of professional development

 

The CLP is designed for Interior and exterior landscape company owners and managers who want to establish themselves (and their company) as a leader in the industry.

 

CLT

We have several Certified Landscape Technicians on staff. The CLT- Exterior exam is a hands-on field test. The CLT is designed for people who want to establish credentials by meeting international standards for safe and effective operation of machinery and demonstrating a thorough understanding of all facets of the position. Candidates test in Installation, Maintenance and Irrigation.

 

NCNLA

We have a North Carolina Certified Plant Professional on staff. The CPP program demonstrates professionalism in the Nursery industry and creates opportunities for career advancement through a two part test. The written portion identifies knowledge and skills needed while working in a nursery or landscape operation. The Plant ID portion requires identification of 125 “live” plants, which demonstrates basic knowledge of plant material.

 

NCDA

We have North Carolina Landscape Ornamental and Aquatic and Pesticides Licensed applicators on staff.

 

Aquatic Pest Control

For pesticide applicators purposefully applying pesticides to standing or running water (ponds, lakes, and streams). A separate manual and examination are available for persons who apply paints containing tributyltin (TBT) to boats and ships.

 

Ornamental & Turf Pest Control

For pesticide applicators using pesticides to maintain ornamentals, shade trees, and turf. This category includes commercial pesticide application work on home lawns, public grounds, parks, greenhouses, shade trees, golf courses, and cemeteries.

 

NC Irrigation Contractors' Licensing Board

AA Tex Lawn holds a North Carolina Irrigation Contractor's License. The North Carolina Irrigation Contractors' Licensing Board was established to oversee the licensing of Irrigation Contractors in North Carolina. The purpose of licensure is to protect the public health, safety and welfare and to promote the efficient use of water. According to the recently enacted licensure law, no person shall engage in the practice of irrigation construction or contracting, use the designation 'irrigation contractor,' or advertise using any title or description that implies licensure as an irrigation contractor unless the person is licensed as an irrigation contractor.

 

CleanStream

Clean Streams is a coalition program for turf professionals in Mecklenburg County. After completion of a half day seminar and written exam, participants will be promoted to local citizens as having successfully completed the Clean Streams program and are turfgrass professionals who wish to protect water quality in Mecklenburg County. Cleans Streams is a program created locally by NC Cooperative Extension Service, Mecklenburg County Water Quality Program and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services.

ICPI

The ICPI Concrete Paver Installer Certification Level 1 Programs impart the requisite knowledge, experience and industry guidelines required to build pavements using concrete pavers.
